Technomic Agri-development Division

The Agri-development Division was created in January 2000; its main activities are:

• The development of organic agriculture,
• The links between agriculture and biodiversity,
• SARD (Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development)

Its services cover:

• Project management
• Project back-stopping
• Project evaluation
• Policy research and reports
• Development of biodiversity management tools
• Conference management
• Technical training on organic farming techniques.

Much of the Division's work is done in collaboration with its two main partners: the REDD (Réseau Echange et Developpement Durable) and CreaConsult Ltd.

Clients include the following institutions:

• Swiss Development Co-operation
• the International Financial Corporation
• the Council of Europe
• Pro-Natura (a Swiss environmental NGO)
• The Swiss Ministry of Environment and Forests
• The World Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

The Agri-Development Division is headed by Peter Damary (Ing Agr Dipl. ETH), an agricultural engineer and graduate of the Federal Institute of Technology. Peter has particular experience of organic agriculture and biodiversity implementation projects in Eastern-Europe.
